So…what do you write?

This isn’t rocket science…trust me, you really can’t screw this up. These guys live for your letters a simple “hi” is encouraging enough.

However there are a few things to know…The most important…write them back!

Only start this process if you are serious to see it through…don’t go into this half way. For myself, whenever I receive a letter from Brother James I immediately stop what I’m doing and write him back. Even if it’s only a paragraph long…doesn’t matter. What’s important is they know they have that connection…while you may be free they are in a place completely cut off from society and their minds can go wild with worry.

Do not feel guilty if one of these inmates asks you for money or something else and you say “No”. Boundaries are important!! Only give what you feel comfortable in giving…if that is simply a letter then that is completely okay.

If you find trouble trying to figure out what to write…just write about your day, or what’s going on in the world today…not every word has to be spiritually enthralled…just write, it’s all good
